JR's "Inside Out" Project - June 3rd and 4th, 2025 Carcassonne

• Contemporary Art Center, 28 rue Voltaire in Carcassonne

The concept: The "Inside Out" project is JR's emblematic initiative that allows citizens to participate in a collective artwork. All audiences are invited: residents and tourists, adults and children.

Process: Participants can come to be photographed by JR's team. These portraits are then transformed into large-format black and white posters, in the artist's characteristic style. Participants usually leave with their portrait and can choose to display it in public spaces, thus creating an open-air gallery.

Special context: This event marks the inauguration of Carcassonne's Contemporary Art Center, giving it an even more special dimension for the city.
