Carcassonne Festival 2026: Full Programme (and Our Top Picks)

Every summer, the medieval Cité of Carcassonne transforms into an open-air stage. From June 26 to July 31, 2026, the Carcassonne Festival presents over thirty shows — concerts, theatre, opera, dance, cinema — in two exceptional settings: the Théâtre Jean-Deschamps and the Cour d'honneur of the Château Comtal. If you're staying in the area this summer, now is the time to plan your dates.

The Programme at a Glance

The festival opens in late June with three cinema evenings at the Château Comtal: C'est moi... Marlène Jobert (June 26), Marchal par Marchal (June 27) and Charles Aznavour en Arménie (June 28).

July then takes over with an eclectic line-up:

Practical Tips

Book early — some shows sell out weeks in advance, especially Bigflo & Oli and Ludovico Einaudi. Tickets at the PAC box office (+33 04 68 11 59 15) or online.

Bring a light jacket: evenings can be cool even in July. Arrive a little early to soak up the atmosphere in the narrow streets before the show.

Le 139, a 10-minute walk from the ramparts, is perfectly placed to enjoy the festival with no parking stress.
